HOW TO END REPAIRED LEATHER STICKINESS

HOW TO END REPAIRED LEATHER STICKINESS

Many of our customers have already been amazed by the results they get! Though they encountered challenges during the repair, like leather stickiness after application, it’s easily overcome with these very easy steps!

FIRST: Avoid using your leather item when the applied repair compound has not yet fully dried.

This is the most important thing that you must always remember. You cannot use your leather item or the area where the repair is located. This to prevent ruining the repair and getting lints, bits of thread, and other small objects sticking to your repaired area. Also, if the applied repair compound is not yet fully dry, avoid touching or getting your clothes in contact with the repaired area as the repair compound might stain or adhere to your clothes. Please always remember to allow several hours of dry time between each layer application. Drying time depends on the thickness of the applied layer and the relative humidity of the environment. Damage to your leather item or to your clothes will not be our liability as we always instruct our customers to allow the repair compound to dry first before usage.

SECOND: Contact us about the leather stickiness or tackiness of your repair and send photos of them.

If in the case that the repaired are remained sticky or tacky even after leaving it to dry for hours, then please contact us at support@coconix.com. Kindly let us the procedures that you have done or the steps you tried to get rid of the stickiness. If you have not yet attempted anything, please let us know the last repair step you did so we can help you with how to proceed with your repair. Also, we will be needing the photos of your repair’s current state so we know how it looks and we can be on the same page. Please take photos under natural lighting and a clear and close angle so we can give you better, more appropriate personalized advice. You may attach the photos to your email and you can send them to our support team anytime. They will respond to your email as soon as possible! We guarantee quick and helpful responses from our support team!

THIRD: Follow the buffing steps that we will provide to get your desired finish.

After you have informed us of your repair’s current state and sent us the photos, we will send you an instruction or a recommendation on what steps to do to get the finish that you desire. And because, as mentioned, drying time depends on the thickness of the applied layer and the relative humidity of the environment, our suggestion might not work on your repair right away. If that will be the case, please let us know and we will tell what to do next. Please do not jump to conclusions that the repair is hopeless, or that you will no longer be getting your desired results, as this will only hinder you from trying our suggestions and improving your repair project. Our Coconix Support Team and Repair Experts are always available and ready to provide assistance and personalized advice. So please do not hesitate to contact us. What are you waiting for? • Hi, I painted the seat of a vinyl office chair, which looks good except the finish looks a bit hazy. How can I buff it into more of a shine to match the other?
